Размеры одежды – что значат буквы S, L, M, X и как разобраться в размерах раз и навсегда

Разбираемся в размерах и больше никогда их не гуглим.

Сегодня поговорим о размерах одежды. Начнем сразу с латинских обозначений: S, L, M. S значит «маленький» (small), L – «большой» (large), M – «средний» (medium). Буква X означает «очень» (от слова extra) и всегда приставляется к S, L или M.

Буква X в размере может быть одна, например XS – очень маленький. Может быть две: XXL – очень-очень большой, три: XXXL.

Если букв X несколько, их для удобства заменяют на B (бинарный, двойной). B – это XX. Поэтому BXL – это XXXL, BXXL – XXXXL, BXXXL – XXXXXL.

Не могу понять, почему это у женщин все так точно, на каждую букву свой размер, а у нас значит XXL может быть и 54, и 56, XXXL – и 58, и 60.

Когда выбираете брюки, там указывается размер и через дробь – рост. Но в случае со мной это почему-то не прокатывает и я на рост с этикетки почти никогда не смотрю, он может быть сантиметров на 5 больше или меньше моего роста, при этом брюки/джинсы мне подходят, я их покупаю.

Размеры варежек и шапок

Буквы на варежках соответствуют обхвату вашей ладони, при этом большой палец в обхват не входит. Вряд ли вы будете мерить себя, проще пойти в магазин и сразу подобрать перчатки, которые будут «в пору». Но все же вот размеры для мужчин (обхват измеряется в сантиметрах):

Размеры детских шапочек и варежек

Здесь интересно то, что дети относительно похожи друг на друга и размеры их головных уборов и варежек зависят от возраста. Поэтому я привожу буквенные обозначения и средний возраст, которому они соответствуют:

Подбирать шапки маленькому ребенку – это жуткий кошмар, потому что ему сразу жарко, ему не нравится, что кто-то что-то на него надевает, он начинать кричать на весь магазин, в результате мама и папа на взводе. Так что берите обозначения размеров на заметку.

Когда подбираете сыну или дочери варежки, размеры M и L подойдут для возраста 3-7 лет, XL – для 7-11, XXL – для тех, кто старше 11 лет.
